Tour description The aim of the tour is to get to know Slovenia, a country with stupendous paragliding culture and possibilities in Europe. We will spend the first three days of our tour in Predvor, on the southern side of the Karawankas. European Championships and Paragliding World Cups are regularly organised in this area! The Karavanke (in Slovene) chain is a mountain range on the border between Slovenia and Austria, and with a total length of 120 km it is the longest range in Europe. For the second part of the tour, we will travel to Tolmin, which is situated in the Soca Valley (pronounced ‘socha’). The place also hosts significant competitions year after year. The view from above is exceptional! The Soča (in Slovenia) or Isonzo (in Italy) is a 140 km long Alpine river with incomparably turquoise water and it is said to be one of the rare rivers in the world that retain such a colour throughout their length. Its source lies in the Trenta Valley in the Julian Alps and the river runs past Slovenia's highest peak, Triglav (2,864 m) before heading south past the towns of Bovec, Kobarid, Tolmin, Kanal ob Soči, Nova Gorica, entering the Adriatic Sea.Outstanding thermals, long steep mountain slopes and unforgettable panoramic view offer top flying opportunities (both slope soaring and thermal flying) and long cross-country flights above the Julian Alps.
